Throughout my training I have never worried too much about belts and accolades; I have concentrated more on knowledge and street applicability of what I am being taught. Does it work? Is it going to work in the street, when it really matters?
Yes I can say that over the years I have gained valuable and extensive knowledge in various styles/arts including Karate, Ju-Jitsu encompassing elements of Wing Chun and Kick Boxing - all of which have included different and varied methods of self defence.
I have also had the pleasure of attending various valuable courses throughout my career, all of which have certainly been inspirational, the likes of Ronnie Green and Robert Clark both themselves great ambassadors of the martial arts around the world. Martial Arts for me is a life long journey and I believe that my cup will never be full – if you come across a grand master that claims otherwise I would advise to steer well clear.
My own martial arts journey has only just begun with the creation of our own ‘Streetwise’ syllabus which encompasses everything that I have learnt over the last 23 years. We have taken the best bits from various styles and adapted it to create something which is workable on the street. I have always believed that Martial arts should be for everyone and our extensive but easy to apply syllabus makes it fun and enjoyable for the whole family to benefit from.
